Alan Shearer has scored an astounding 260 goals and 64 assists in 441 games for the Blackburn Rovers and Newcastle United in the Premier League. To this day, he maintains the record for the most goals scored in the Premier League.

Alan Shearer was a classic target man in English football. He had a big stature, quite a strong shot, and a heading ability that remains legendary. All of these characteristics made him a major threat in and around the opposition’s box. Aside from his impressive scoring and play-making ability, Shearer was a very disciplined player. In his storied career, he only had 2 red cards, one of which later got rescinded. Unfortunately, he only played in one FIFA World Cup for England, though he did score 2 goals in 4 matches.

Wayne Rooney is undoubtedly one of the biggest stars that the Premier League has ever produced. Always in the conversation for the league’s best player in the 2000s and 2010s, Rooney helped lead Manchester United to 5 Premier League titles, 1 FA Cup title, 1 UEFA Champions League title, and 1 UEFA Europa League title.

Erling Haaland

He has scored 111 goals in 131 appearances, notching 24 assists, to boot. He even won the Golden Boot award, given to the best scorer of the season, twice. One of those Golden Boot award wins for his record-breaking season, during which he scored an astounding 36 goals.

Although there have been many tall and strong strikers in this league, very few of them were as quick and agile as Haaland. These characteristics enable him to move fluidly, get rid of defenders, and evade offside traps. That makes him one of the greatest Premier League goal-scorers in history!
