Building LEGO structures is one of the most popular global pastimes for kids, adolescents, and adults alike. The LEGO Group earned over $13 billion internationally in 2025. This success exists primarily thanks to the brand’s reputation, but we cannot neglect to mention the sheer diversity LEGO offers. From sets with beloved football teams like Manchester United to sets with spaceships, video game characters, and city skylines, LEGO has it all.

While the massively popular football stadium sets are now retired, there are other sports-themed LEGO sets to look forward to. In this article, we will take a closer look at our favorite sports-inspired LEGO sets in 2026 and what they have to offer you!
Mercedes-AMG F1 W14 E Performance
Formula 1 is the highest class of competition for open-wheel racing cars, and it always delivers excitement. There are 11 teams on the grid and 22 racers who drive masterpieces of automotive engineering in F1 cars. LEGO wowed F1 and car racing fans in general by creating the LEGO Technic sets. These sets have detailed designs with functioning gearboxes, wheels, and axles.

Out of all our favorite sports-inspired LEGO sets in 2026, the Mercedes-AMG F1 W14 E Performance is the most complex. It has 1643 pieces that combine to create a design with 13 cm (5 inches) in height, 63 cm (25 inches) in length, and 26 cm (10 inches) in width.
FIFA World Cup™ Official Trophy
There are very few sporting competitions as exciting as the FIFA World Cup, and 2026 is a World Cup year. This tournament brings excitement to the whole world, giving us moments of pure magic with every game. That is why LEGO released several FIFA World Cup-inspired sets. While they all have their individual appeal, the FIFA World Cup Official Trophy is something special.

This LEGO set consists of 2842 pieces in total, and everyone ages 12 and above can get it. This LEGO set has the same dimensions as the real World Cup Official Trophy, standing at 36 cm (14.5 inches) tall. It even has the two human figures holding up the Earth and the “FIFA World Cup” plaque, just like the real version does.
Nike Slam Dunk
LEGO, in collaboration with Nike, has developed several basketball-inspired sets that you can put together. Each of these sets is colorful, with at least 800 pieces, so you know that putting it together will be a blast. Although we do have a minor complaint about the sets not having specific team or country signage, they are still fantastic.

Despite the multiple options, we picked the Nike Slam Dunk as one of our favorite sports-inspired LEGO sets in 2026. It has 809 pieces in total, and it is a set designed for people ages 10 and up. You can buy it for $69.99, and once you put it together, you can expect it to measure 37 cm (14.5 inches) in height, 25 cm (10 inches) in width, and 14 cm (5.5 inches) in depth.
