Friends is undoubtedly one of the best sitcoms of all time. It ran for 10 seasons and 228 episodes in total, earning itself a cult following from Millennials and Gen Z members alike. From the eternal debate around “We were on a break!” to the characters’ catchphrases like “I know!”, Friends is filled with iconic moments.

Everyone has their favorites among the six friends and even the supporting cast. The same is true of the 228 episodes. While we can’t say with certainty these episodes are everybody’s favorites, they are ours. So, without further ado, here are our brief reviews of the 3 funniest Friends episodes in the 10 seasons!

The One Where Everybody Finds Out

“They don’t know that we know they know we know!” is one of those lines that remains engraved in your mind forever. It is the perfect encapsulation of the chaos and humor of Friends that made it such a cult classic. The 14th episode of season 5 begins right after Joey and Rachel realize the other knows about Chandler and Monica’s secret relationship. Once Phoebe finds out, the true chaos kicks off. It’s one of the most perfect shows to rewatch for 00s nostalgia.

There are so many legendary scenes and lines packed into an episode of only 20 or so minutes. Phoebe’s “My eyes!”, Chandler’s “Because I’m in love with Monica!”, and even Joey’s “Couldn’t if I wanted to.” In our eyes, it is the perfect Friends episode. If you were to try to sell someone on watching Friends, this would be the episode to do it with. That’s why we consider it one of the 3 funniest Friends episodes in the 10 seasons.

The One With the Blackout

There is something simply magical about the episode “The One With the Blackout”. It’s seeping with everything that made the 90s so lovely. The popular 90s fashion, the group huddling together over Monopoly during a blackout, and the not-so-secret phone calls. Interestingly enough, Chandler is away from the group for the entirety of the episode, but the writers made it work.

While he is trapped in an ATM vestibule, according to Jill Goodacre, across town, the gang is gathered at Monica’s. They are discussing their first times, playing board games, and singing songs. It almost makes the episode feel like a sleepover. Between the cat attacking Ross, Paolo’s appearance, and Chandler choking on gum, it’s one of the 3 funniest Friends episodes in the 10 seasons.

The One Where No One Is Ready

“The One Where No One Is Ready” is the 50th episode of the show, and the second episode of season 3. It is also one of the most masterfully written and acted so-called bottle episodes we have ever seen. The entire episode, from start to finish, takes place inside Monica and Rachel’s apartment. In fact, the scenes don’t even go beyond the apartment’s living room and kitchen areas.

These episodes can often be boring, but not in Friends. This show sets up several plotlines right off the bat. Ross is stressed because he has an important work event that he can’t be late for, while no one else is ready. Rachel hasn’t even picked out her clothes yet, and she is Ross’ girlfriend and date. Monica gets a voicemail from ex-boyfriend Richard, throwing her for a loop. Meanwhile, Joey and Chandler beef over the armchair seat, hitting Phoebe with hummus in the process. It is one of the most highly rated Friends shows on IMDb with an impressive 8.9/10, for a very good reason.
