There’s been a lot of debate about whether breakfast is truly the most important meal of the day. We know for a fact that the phrase originated in the 1940s as a marketing ploy. That being said, scientists have long claimed that a balanced and nutritious breakfast is important.
That is why we decided to compile our 3 favorite recipes for a healthy and nutritious breakfast. Whether you prefer fruits, veggies, protein, or carbs, you can still eat well in the morning. These are our top tried-and-true recipes that are easy to make in the morning.
Egg-in-Toast
Egg-in-toast is one of those meals that is pleasing both to the stomach and the eyes. It will help increase your collagen and make for a pretty social media shot. To start with, you need sliced bread— we leave the specific type up to you. Then you need to get 2-3 eggs, along with butter or oil, which you will need to cook this dish.

To make this dish, you need to use a cup or a glass to cut out the middle of the bread slices. Heat up the pan and drop just a smidge of butter (to prevent sticking and to make it delicious). Once the pan heats up, crack the egg directly into the hole in the middle of the slice. When you’re sure the bottom is cooked, flip the slice, or remove it if you prefer runny eggs. You can serve this dish with avocado, bacon, cottage cheese, or a salad.
Prosciutto Sandwich on Rye
Who doesn’t love a good sandwich to start the day right. This dish is one of our 3 favorite recipes for a healthy and nutritious breakfast because it’s so easy to make. You will need rye bread, cream cheese, prosciutto, white cheese, and a couple of veggies.

Spread the cream cheese on both slices of bread before placing the prosciutto. Then place thin slices of the white cheese, and then add your veggies. We recommend cucumber, tomato, or lettuce. Put the sandwich together and dig in, and if you want something to drink, we’ve found that orange juice goes great with it.
Oatmeal with Fresh Fruit
Oatmeal is one of those dishes that’s gained a lot of popularity in recent years. It’s incredibly healthy and it will make you feel full until lunch. So, it’s no surprise that we included it in our 3 favorite recipes for a healthy and nutritious breakfast.

You can prepare the oatmeal with hot water in the morning or with milk of your choosing from the night before. Once ready, you are free to add fresh fruit like bananas, strawberries, pomegranates, or any other fruit you prefer.
